How much does a logo design cost in India?

There is a published typical range for a basic logo in India, and it is below. What you are actually quoted depends less on the designer than on what you ask for — so this guide is mostly about the asking.

The typical range

₹5,000–₹20,000

typical fixed price for a basic logo design in India

Internshala, “Cost to Hire a Graphic Designer”, 11 June 2026

That figure is for a basic logo: a wordmark or a simple symbol, delivered in the files you need to use it. It is a published third-party range, not our own data. As projects complete on Lancerscape we will add the range observed on the platform beside it, labelled separately — not blended into the figure above.

What moves the price

Wordmark or symbol

Setting your name in a well-chosen typeface is a smaller job than drawing an original mark. A mark that has to work at the size of a favicon and on a shopfront is a larger one again.

Number of concepts

One direction refined is quicker than three different directions presented. Ask for the number you genuinely want to choose between.

Rounds of revision

Two stated rounds are priced as work. “Unlimited revisions” is priced as a risk — usually by a higher quote or by less care per round.

The brand around it

Colours, typography, usage rules, stationery and social templates turn a logo into a brand kit. Worth having, and a different, larger job.

Research and strategy

A designer who studies your market and competitors before drawing is spending time a quote has to cover. For a new business entering a crowded field, it is often the time worth paying for.

Experience and portfolio

A designer with a strong portfolio in your sector will usually quote more, and will usually need less direction to get it right.

What you should receive

Whatever you pay, a finished logo should arrive in a form you can actually use, without going back to the designer for every new use.

  • Vector source files (such as SVG, AI or EPS), so the logo can be printed at any size without blurring.
  • High-resolution PNG files with a transparent background, for everyday use on screen.
  • Colour versions: full colour, a single colour, and a reversed version for dark backgrounds.
  • The exact colour values and the typeface names, so anyone working on your brand later can match them.
  • The rights to use it — in writing.

How to get an accurate quote

A range tells you whether a quote is in the right territory. Only a brief tells you what your logo will cost. Say what the logo is for and where it will appear, whether you want a wordmark or a symbol, how many concepts and revision rounds you expect, and which files you need. Our guide to writing a project brief walks through the rest.

Then compare the bids. On Lancerscape, posting a brief is free, every freelancer who can bid is KYC-verified, and you contract with a registered Indian company that stands behind delivery. See how hiring a logo designer works here.

FAQ

How much does a simple logo cost in India?

A basic logo design is typically quoted at ₹5,000–₹20,000 in India, according to Internshala, “Cost to Hire a Graphic Designer” (11 June 2026). Your quote depends on what you ask for — the number of concepts, the rounds of revision, and whether you need a fuller brand kit.

Why do logo quotes vary so much?

Because “a logo” describes very different jobs. A wordmark with one round of changes and a researched original symbol with three concepts and a brand guide are both logos. A precise brief narrows the quotes, because every designer is pricing the same job.

Which files should a logo designer give me?

Vector source files (SVG, AI or EPS), high-resolution PNGs with transparent backgrounds, full-colour, single-colour and reversed versions, and the exact colour values and typeface names. Ask for them in the brief so they are in every quote.

Do I own the logo once I have paid?

You should, and it should be in writing. On Lancerscape the rights pass to you when you pay the project invoice, unless something different is agreed in writing — clause 8 of our terms.

Do I pay anything to post a logo brief on Lancerscape?

No. Posting a brief and comparing bids are free. You are invoiced the project value — the bid you accepted — once you choose a designer, as one GST invoice in rupees.
